Description

This squid lamp is made of laser-cut and hand-bent acrylic.

Dimensions
21cm × 22cm tall, thickness of 4.5cm (approx 8 1/4″ x 8 2/3″ x 1 3/4″).

Please note that every lamp is a hand crafted item, so there may be some imperfections in the assembly. The white edges of the lamp may protrude a little in some areas – this is not considered a defect.

The lamp is driven by WLED, a highly active open source software project. With the WLED app, the lamp can be controlled from your mobile phone, and can be integrated with home automation platforms like Home Assistant, or with Twitch.

A micro USB cable is included for power. You will need to supply your own mains power adapter, or power your lamp from a computer. A 5V 2A source is recommended.

Care
Clean with a soft cloth. Acrylic can be scratched easily so avoid keeping the lamp face-down where it could be rubbed against dirt or grit.

Wifi control
Only compatible with 2.4GHz networks. Your lamp will still work without being connected to any network but you’ll need to connect to its hotspot to control its colours.

A wifi connection is required for features like Twitch integration.

Lighting
The lights look great indoors or in low lighting. In brightly lit environments the lights emitted by the LEDs will be washed out by the ambient light.

When viewed through a camera the lamp may appear as a white spot and not show the colours well. You can place the lamp around walls or objects that can reflect the lamp’s colours. A sheet of printer paper or greaseproof baking paper in front of the lamp may also help to diffuse the light.

Troubleshooting and replacement parts
One panel of the squid is removable allowing for access to the electronics inside. If your lamp is nonfunctional on arrival please check that there are no loose connections – parts may have shaken loose during shipping. Email me at ale@chenonetta.com if you need assistance.
